Hi! I’m Sarah (she/her), the owner of Sarah Kusz Weddings. I’m a storyteller of love and community, and first and foremost an artist. To me, weddings are about emotions, not just details. It’s more about the celebration and genuine moments than staged portraits and uncomfortable posing. My style is natural and relaxed, capturing the day as it unfolds. Years from now, people will only remember how they felt, how much they danced, and how beautiful the vows were. They will remember the happiness overflowing in the room. All you need for an unforgettable day is good music, good food (and drinks!), and good people.

As a photographer, I put my heart and soul into each wedding I photograph. When you hire my company, you are hiring me, with all of my attention and availability, from start to finish. I recognize and cherish the importance of this day. I want to be there every step of the way. I want to help you remember this day forever, truthfully, as it happened. No giant lights or crew of 10 people following you around and getting in everyone’s way! Think of me as a fly on the wall, but also your best friend with a camera: getting the scene but also those tiny, intimate moments.

I’m here to capture and celebrate your love with you. Sound good? Then let’s do this.

I firmly believe that love is love, and I work every day on decolonizing this industry and my practice. Black Lives Matter, PERIOD. As a woman of color and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it is extremely important for me to make sure that I am creating a safe space for my clients, and that all types of love are represented in my work. Because COVID disproportionately affects marginalized populations, I am also extremely strict about following all recommended safety standards when it comes to the pandemic. I will not photograph any events that break local or federal laws.

F.A.Q.

+ Where are you based?

I live in Seattle, but I spent the last decade living and working in NYC. I work most frequently in the Pacific Northwest, California, and the NYC/Hudson Valley area.

+ How long have you been photographing weddings?

I’ve been a full time wedding photographer since 2013, but Sarah Kusz Weddings started in 2017. I began photographing weddings fresh out of college, where I chose to leave a promising career in finance to pursue my passion. I haven’t looked back since!

+ Do you travel for weddings? What's the cost?

Yes! I create a package based on where you’re located, so please don’t be afraid to inquire! Depending on the location, I’m willing to be more flexible on travel and accommodations costs. Let’s go!

+ Ok I’m interested. What are your rates?

Each inquiry receives custom pricing depending on the location, duration, and size of the event. However, please expect to spend at least $700/hour on any wedding coverage.

+ How many images can I expect?

Each wedding is unique and thus the final total of delivered images varies. However, with a full 8 hour day, you can expect anywhere from 600-1000 edited images. The full gallery is delivered 8-10 weeks after your event, with a sneak peek sent out within 72 hours.

+ Do you offer engagement shoots & family sessions?

Yes! I absolutely love family and engagement sessions. Feel free to inquire through the contact form.

+ Do you do albums?

Yes! I offer fine art wedding albums, as well as lower cost (but still beautiful!) hardcover books. I believe your photos are best printed and enjoyed outside of a screen.

+ Do you photograph anything other than weddings?

I do a lot of hospitality and corporate work as well as weddings. Check it out here!

+ What’s your dog’s name?

Murphy! He’s always around for pets and cuddles, should you find yourself in Seattle.
